Where do these figures come from?

Rent is what 14 Erasmus students report in the European Commission survey (2026-08). Food, transport and leisure are an estimate from Eurostat price indices (2024), checked against Numbeo (2026-09). Think of a shared flat and cooking at home. It is not a market price and does not include flights or your home university fees.

    Experiencias Erasmus Madrid

A paginated board of stories about Madrid written by students, each with its score out of 10. Two things coexist: long testimonies of the full semester, in a question-and-answer format about the student atmosphere, cost of living, and whether they would recommend the city, and short messages asking for or giving advice about a specific bar or club. It is not filtered for positivity: there is an entry openly titled "Experiencia SICUE Madrid (mala)". It serves to calibrate expectations with non-institutional voices, keeping in mind that quite a few entries are already between three and five years old.

Entry point to the six Erasmus Student Network sections in the region —Alcalá, Autónoma (UAM), Complutense (UCM), Carlos III (UC3M), Politécnica (UPM), and Rey Juan Carlos (URJC)—, with a description of each, where their office is located, and their contact and social media links. Together, they serve more than 10,000 international students per year. The website summarizes the process in three steps: go to your university's section, get your ESNcard there, and use it to access activities, trips, and discounts. Note: although the menu is in Spanish, almost all the content is written in English, and office hours must be looked up on the website of each section.
